WAIKIKI MEATBALLS 
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
2/3 c. cracker or cornflake crumbs
1/4 c. minced onions
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 c. milk
1 tbsp. shortening
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 med. can (13 1/2 oz.) pineapple chunks, drain pineapple saving syrup
1/3 c. white vinegar
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1/3 c. chopped green pepper

Mix beef, crumbs, onion, egg, salt, ginger and milk. Form into balls. Melt shortening in large skillet; brown and cook meatballs; remove from skillet and keep warm. Pour fat out of skillet.

Mix cornstarch and sugar. Stir in syrup from pineapple chunks, vinegar and soy sauce. Pour into skillet; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly and boil for 1 minute. Add meatballs, bell pepper and pineapple chunks, warm through and serve.
