JUDSON CASSEROLE 
1 lb. hamburger
4 medium potatoes (sliced)
2 or 3 medium onions (ringlets)
1/2 c. chopped bell pepper (optional)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
salt and pepper to taste

Grease casserole dish. Slightly brown hamburger in skillet. Layer sliced potatoes and onions in casserole dish. Salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle hamburger over layers of potatoes and onions. Salt and pepper meat to taste. Spread cream of mushroom soup over hamburger.

Bake at 350°F for 1 hour and 15 minutes. (Time varies...cook until desired tenderness.)

I think this recipe would work better if you baked it in a covered dish. Otherwise, a can of water should be added with the soup to make sure the potatoes are cooked and the topping isn't dry.
