OLD FASHIONED ROLL MIX | |
2 pkgs. of yeast 1/2 c. warm water 1/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. oil or butter, melted 1 c. milk scalded and cooled 1 c. water 2 eggs, slightly beaten 7 or 8 cups of flour Mix yeast and warm water together. Heat milk, cool, add oil or butter to milk, salt, and sugar. Beat the eggs slightly add to water. Mix all liquid together slowly with flour to make a soft dough then knead 10 minutes or until elastic and smooth. Put in a greased bowl until doubled then punch down then make rolls and let rise again. Bake at 375 degrees until brown. For sweet rolls add 1/4 cup more sugar. Will keep overnight in refrigerator. |
