Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar and 3 teaspoons cinnamon. Melt 1 stick butter. Chop 1 cup nuts (optional).
Take thawed raised bread and punch down. Pinch off pieces about the size of walnuts and roll into balls. Drop in melted butter; roll in sugar; layer in greased angel food or Bundt pan.
Between layers sprinkle chopped nuts. Make second layer. Take any remaining sugar mix. Sprinkle over top. Drizzle any leftover butter over entirely. Raise again. Set pan on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Cool a few minutes and remove from the pan by inverting the pan over a cookie sheet and sliding the pan off the bread. Juice will flow over bread. Serve warm.
