BUTTERMILK BISCUITS 
2/3 c. butter, softened
3 1/2 c. flour (all-purpose)
4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. buttermilk

Cut dry ingredients into butter. Add milk on floured surface. Knead lightly 20 times. Roll 1/2 inch thick. Cut with 2 inch biscuit cutter. Place with sides touching in greased pan. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 450 degrees. Brown tops in broiler.
