RED LENTIL SOUP 
1 c. red lentils
1 med. onion, chopped
1/4 c. rice
1/8 tsp. red pepper
6 c. chicken broth
1 sm. onion, chopped
2 tbsp. oil

In 6 cups boiling chicken broth, simmer lentils, onion, rice and seasonings for one hour. Fry small onion in oil and pour over soup just before serving. Serve hot.
