CHOPPED APPLE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. salad oil
2 c. sugar (brown is best)
3 eggs, well beaten
3 c. flour (save 1/2 c. for nuts)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. chopped pecans (blend with flour)
1 c. raisins, optional
3 c. chopped raw apples, peeled

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix first 3 ingredients well; then add remaining ingredients in order given, mixing well. Bake in greased and floured pan 1 1/2 hours. Cool and cut into 1-inch squares.
