EASY RICE PILAF 
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. chopped onions
3 whole cloves
1 bay leaf
3 c. clear canned chicken broth
1 c. uncooked whole grain rice (not instant)

Cook onions, cloves and bay leaf in butter until onions are tender. In separate pan heat chicken broth to boiling. In 2 quart casserole with lid, add all ingredients: chicken broth, rice, onions, cloves and bay leaf. Microwave on high for 20 minutes or bake in conventional oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serves 4 people nicely.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
