HIGHBROW HADDOCK | |
1 lb. frozen haddock or other fish fillets 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 c. milk 1 c. Cheddar cheese 2 tbsp. butter 1/4 c. chopped onion 2 tbsp. flour 1 c. sour cream 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms Simmer fish in water (barely covered), 12-15 minutes. Break fish into large chunks. In large saucepan cook onions in butter. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Add 1 cup milk; cook until thickened. Remove from heat. Add cheese, sour cream, fish and mushrooms. Place in 2 quart casserole and top with buttered bread crumbs. Bake 15-20 minutes in 400 degree oven. Serves 4. |
