SHORTBREAD COOKIES | |
2 sticks butter (no substitute) 1/2 c. sugar 2 c. flour, sifted 1 tsp. flavoring (vanilla, anise or whatever) Pecan halves Cream together butter and sugar. Gradually flour. Add flavoring. Mix all together. Dough will be stiff. divide into 3 parts and pat down into greased 8" pie tins (or 2 parts in larger tins). Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees. They should be just slightly brown. Don't over cook. While still warm, cut into about 10 pie-shaped slices. Press a pecan into each slice. After they're cool, remove from pan. |
