OLD - FASHIONED MIXED - PICKLE
RELISH
 
5 med. onions
1 med. head cabbage
3 c. ground green tomatoes
3 green sweet peppers

Add to ground up mixture:

2 tbsp. salt

Let stand 2 hours. Drain well in colander. Get rid of all liquid.

Add:

2 c. white vinegar
2 c. sugar
Mixed pickling spiced to taste

Boil, stirring, until well blended. Add ground up vegetables. Cook about 20 minutes being careful not to scorch.

Makes about 4 pints.

Put in sterilized jars, seal. I "water bath" this relish for 50 minutes in an old blue canner. Or, pressure for 15 minutes.
