HOMEMADE CHILI FROM SCRATCH 
2 qt. jars tomatoes (not drained)
3 lb. ground beef
2 tbsp. chili powder
2 tsp. salt
2 cans kidney beans
2 lg. onions, chopped finely
Cheddar cheese

Brown ground beef in large pot with a small amount of butter. Drain if necessary. Place back in large pot and add tomatoes, chili powder, salt, onion and kidney beans. Stir well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour. Serve while hot with Cheddar cheese on top. Serves 6.
