CALIFORNIA POUND CAKE | |
2 c. sugar 2 1/2 c. self-rising flour 1 sm. can crushed pineapple & juice 1 1/2 c. cooking oil 2 tsp. orange flavoring 4 egg yolks 4 egg whites, beaten stiff 1 1/2 c. nuts Tad of lemon juice Combine oil, sugar, egg yolks and orange flavoring. Add flour. Stir in pineapple and juice. Fold in beaten egg whites carefully. Stir in nuts. Pour in tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Put 1 cup powdered sugar and lemon juice to make the glaze. Pour over hot cake. Place in turned off oven for 5 minutes. |
