SWEDISH MEATBALLS | |
1/3 lb. ground veal 1/3 lb. ground pork 2/3 lb. ground beef (All of the above should be finely ground.) 3/4 c. bread crumbs 3 beaten eggs 1/2 c. milk 1 tbsp. finely chopped onion 1/2 tsp. ground allspice 1/4 tsp. white pepper 1 tsp. salt Mix thoroughly. Make into small balls about the size of English walnuts. Brown in butter on medium heat, turning to brown all sides. Place in casserole. When all are browned make a gravy with the drippings, flour and 1 1/2 cups milk. Pour over the meatballs and serve. |
