EASY TAMALE PIE 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 tbsp. oil
1/2 tbsp. butter
2 med. onions, chopped
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp. pimento, chopped
1/2 med. green pepper, chopped
4 oz. mushrooms, sliced
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1/4 c. water
1 tbsp. chili powder
Dash Tabasco sauce
1 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. cold water
1 c. ripe olives
Salt
Pepper
2 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
2 c. corn chips, lightly crushed

Brown beef in oil and butter. Add onions, garlic, pimento, green pepper, mushrooms, tomato sauce, 1/4 cup water, chili powder and Tabasco sauce. Simmer, uncovered, 20 minutes. Make paste with flour and cold water. Stir into meat mixture. Add olives. Cook over low until mixture comes to boil. Season to taste. Layer meat, grated cheese and crushed chips in a 2 1/2-quart baking dish until all used up, ending with cheese and chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes, until crust is golden brown. Serves 6.
