ONE AND ONE HALF GALLONS ICE
CREAM
 
1/2 gallon milk
5-6 egg yolks
3 heaping tbsp. cornstarch
A pinch of salt
1 c. sugar

Heat the milk, beat egg yolks and add to the warm milk. Mix cornstarch and 1 cup sugar; add to the warm milk and stir until done. Then add a quart of half and half to cool mixture. Add 1 pint whipping cream. Whip and add whites and add to the pudding. Add 3 tablespoons vanilla and 2 1/2 cups sugar. You might add 1 more cup of milk, but don't get too full, it needs room to expand.
