| OATMEAL/CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES | |

1 c. butter or 2 sticks butter 1 c. sugar 1 c. brown sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. flour 2 1/2 c. oatmeal 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 12 oz. pkg. mini chocolate chips Cream together butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. (Dough will be very stiff.) Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. | |

This recipe is wonderful with dried sweetened cranberries (I use the Ocean Spray brand) substituted for the chocolate chips, and a little bit of cinnamon and nutmeg (about 1/2 tsp. each). Heed the warning about stiff dough - I almost broke my little hand mixer!
