NEVER FAIL DUMPLINGS 
1 boiled chicken, boiled until tender
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. shortening
1 egg, beaten
5 tbsp. water
1 can cream of chicken soup

Remove chicken from bone. Set aside, saving broth. Add 1 can cream of chicken soup. Mix flour, salt, shortening and egg. Then add water. When dough is soft, divide into 3 parts. Roll out very thin. Let sheet of dough dry out 20 minutes. Cut into thin strips. Break into 2 or 3 inch pieces. Drop into boiling (broth) water. Drop in chicken. Simmer slowly 15 minutes.
