MY GRANDMOTHER'S DATE BARS 
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tbsp. butter, melted
1/4 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped dates
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat eggs until light; add sugar and melted butter. Blend well. Sift dry ingredients together and add to first mixture. Add dates, nuts, and vanilla. Blend well. Pour into greased shallow pan. Bake in slow 325 degree oven for about 40 to 45 minutes. Cut into bars. Recipe can be tripled.
