OLD FASHIONED CORN BREAD 
1 c. corn meal
1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. oil
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 c. buttermilk

Sift together dry ingredients in small bowl. Mix oil, egg, and milk. Add to dry ingredients. Pour into a well-oiled, at least 2 tablespoons, iron skillet. Bake at 425 degrees until brown, about 25 minutes.
