SPANISH CORN BREAD 
1 1/2 c. cornmeal
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. flour
3/4 c. oil
3 tsp. baking powder
1 clove garlic (or 1 tsp. garlic salt)
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. cheese
1 or 2 Jalapeno peppers
1 lg. onion

Mix all ingredients except cheese. Pour half of batter in pan, top with half of grated cheese. Add remaining batter, top with remaining cheese. Bake for 1 hour or until done at 325 degrees.
