RICH CHOCOLATE BROWNIES 
2/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
2 c. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate morsels, divided
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 c. chopped pecans (opt.)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1. Melt 1 cup morsels over hot, not boiling water. Set aside to cool.

2. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.

3. In large bowl cream butter and sugars until fluffy.

4. Add vanilla and eggs. Beat well.

5. Slowly stir in melted chocolate. Blend.

6. Gradually add flour mixture to chocolate mixture. Stir until smooth.

7. Stir in remaining 1 cup chocolate morsels and pecans.

8. Spread into a buttered 8 inch square baking pan.

9. Bake in preheated (350 degree) oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool.

10. Dust with powdered sugar. Makes approximately 16 (2 inch) squares.
