1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening
2 or 3 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
4 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. vanilla or lemon
1 c. nuts, if desired

Mix ingredients together well, then drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet and bake 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees.
