1 can sweetened applesauce
1 can crushed pineapple
1 pkg. dry yellow cake mix
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Whip cream for garnish or topping

Grease 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Dump applesauce into it. Dump crushed pineapple on top of that. Spread dry cake mix over top. Melt butter and pour on top of cake, then sprinkle with nuts. Don't mix or stir! Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Top with whip cream when cool.

VARIATIONS: Applesauce with 1 can of chunky pie filling (any flavor) and spice cake mix. Add raisins to the applesauce. OR TRY applesauce with maraschino cherries and white cake mix. Substitute unsalted peanuts for pecans in original recipe.
