FRUIT/BERRY PIE 
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1 c. plain flour
1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
2/3 c. milk
2 c. sweetened fruit or berries
1 c. water

Add fruit or berries to water and bring to a boil. Set aside. Melt butter in an 8 inch baking dish. Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk, stirring until just blended. Spoon over butter but do not stir. Pour fruit or berries over batter.

Bake at 375°F for 35 minutes. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream.

Yield: 6 servings.
