BANANA BARS 
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 to 3 ripe bananas
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. milk
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and bananas and rest of ingredients beat 2 minutes at medium speed, spread in greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Frost when cool.

FROSTING:

2 tbsp. butter
2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 to 1 oz. cream cheese
1/2 med. ripe banana

Combine ingredients beat until smooth, add milk if necessary.
