NEVER FAIL COOKED SALAD DRESSING | |
3 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. prepared mustard 1 1/2 tbsp. flour 1 egg 3/4 c. milk 1/4 c. vinegar 1 tsp. butter Combine ingredients in order named and cook, stirring constantly until thick. Add butter last and stir. (Also good hot over dandelion greens or for wilted lettuce. Omit mustard and use water instead of milk. Fry bacon bits and cook rest of dressing ingredients in frying pan until thick. Add greens and mix to wilt. Serve hot.) |
