TUESDAY NIGHT MEATLOAF 
1 tbsp. butter
1 c. chopped onions
1 tsp. minced garlic
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground pork
1/2 lb. ground veal
1/2 tsp. ground pepper
1 c. fresh bread crumbs
1 lg. egg
1/3 c. plus 2 tbsp. ketchup
1/3 c. milk
1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. salt
2 slices bacon, halved

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in medium skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook until tender, 5 minutes. Add garlic and thyme, cook 30 seconds more. Transfer to large bowl, cool. Add meats, bread crumbs, egg, 1/3 cup ketchup, and the milk, parsley, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper; mix well. Pat into 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Spread top with remaining 2 tablespoons ketchup and arrange bacon on top. Bake 1 1/4 hours. Remove from oven and let stand 10 minutes. Drain drippings and discard. Makes 6 servings.
