2 c. boiling water
2 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Deep fat for frying

Pour boiling water over cornmeal and stir. Add other ingredients and mix well. Drop by tablespoonfuls into very hot grease until golden brown. Roll in sugar and eat like donuts.
