LOLLIPOP COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
2 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. sour milk
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Cream together first 3 ingredients until fluffy. Stir in milk. Sift together dry ingredients and stir in. Chill dough for 1 hour. With floured hands, roll into small balls. Place on baking sheet, insert flat popsicle sticks and flatten ball of dough with glass, taking care not to press too hard where stick is in dough. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool.

FROSTING:

2 egg whites
2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tbsp. water

Beat egg whites stiff with electric beater. Add sugar and vanilla gradually. Add water slowly as you beat. Frosting looks like thick enamel paint.

Spread frosting with pastry brush or wide paint brush. When frosting is completely dry, paint faces on with water color brush and food coloring. Dry. Wrap each sucker with plastic wrap and tie with ribbon to hold.
