COTTAGE PIE 
1/4 c. butter
1 c. onion, diced
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1/4 tsp. savory
Salt & pepper to taste
1 c. brown gravy
2 c. mashed potatoes
Butter for topping

Melt butter in skillet. Add onions and cook until transparent. Add meat, savory, salt and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add gravy (canned gravy works well) and mix well. Butter a 9 inch pie plate. Pour the meat mixture and top with mashed potatoes. Dot potatoes with butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until potatoes are browned.

Makes 4 large servings.
