CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening (Crisco)
1 c. butter
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. oatmeal
3 c. flour
2 tsp. vanilla
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Cream 2 cups white sugar, 1 cup shortening, butter, and brown sugar. Add eggs and remaining ingredients. Stir chocolate chips in last. Roll in ball, flatten with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Yield 5 dozen.
