NANA'S VEGETABLE CASSEROLE 
3/4 c. each fresh peas, carrots & string beans (or 16 oz. cans, drained of each)
3/4 c. celery (optional)
2 tbsp. grated onion
1/2 c. fresh bread crumbs, cubed
1 recipe white sauce (see below)

WHITE SAUCE:

1 can condensed cream of mushroom (or cream of asparagus) soup
Dilute soup with 1/3 c. of milk

Arrange veggies (except onion) in layers in a greased casserole, with grated onion sprinkled between layers. Pour white sauce over veggies and bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Add bread crumbs in a single layer and bake 5 to 10 minutes more until brown. A dash of paprika may be added on top of bread crumbs, if desired. Serves 6 to 8. Great with a holiday turkey dinner.
