REFRIGERATOR ROLLS | |
2 pkg. dry yeast 2 1/2 c. scalded sweet milk 1 egg 1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. warm water 1/2 c. sugar 6 c. self-rising flour Soften yeast in lukewarm water for 10 minutes. Combine milk, shortening and sugar. After scalding, let cool to lukewarm. Add yeast mixture and egg. Add flour. Let stand at warm temperature until it doubles in size; shake down. Cover and place in refrigerator. When ready to use, shape and let rise 1 1/2 to 2 hours and bake (most stoves) at 450°F until done and brown. |
