2 tbsp. olive oil or vegetable oil 1 clove minced garlic 1 lg. onion, chopped 1 lb. ground beef 1 c. tomato puree 2 1/2 c. tomatoes 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 jar Ragu sauce with meat 1/2 lb. Ricotta cheese 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. oregano 1/2 tsp. Italian seasonings 8 oz. pkg. broad lasagne noodles 1/2 lb. cottage cheese 1/2 lb. Mozzarella cheese, grated Heat oil in skillet, add garlic, onions, crumble ground beef and brown. Add puree, tomatoes, Ragu sauce and seasonings. Simmer 20 minutes or until sauce thickens slightly. Boil noodles in salted water with vegetable oil until tender. Drain and rinse. Place a layer of half the noodles in a baking dish with the cheeses. Repeat the layering. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Cut in squares and serve. Maybe prepared and placed in the refrigerator. Cooking will be longer. |
