CRAZY CAKE WITH SAUCE | |
If you prepare this simple cake in a disposable pan, you can take it to picnics or tailgating parties. May be served with or without the sauce. 1 1/2 cups cake flour 2 to 3 tbsp. cocoa 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. vinegar 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. baking soda 6 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 tsp. vanilla 1 cup cold water Preheat oven to 350°F. Sift dry ingredients into an ungreased 9x13-inch. Make 3 wells. Into one, pour vegetable oil, in another vinegar, and into the third vanilla. Pour cold water over all. Mix with a fork but don't beat. Be sure to draw ingredients in from the corners of the pan. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Top with chocolate sauce (recipe follows). Chocolate Sauce: 1 (12 oz.) can Carnation evaporated milk 2 cups sugar 2 tbsp. cocoa In a medium saucepan, cook over medium heat until it boils. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour over Crazy Cake. Submitted by: Belle |
