FRUIT SALAD 
32 marshmallows
1/4 c. pineapple juice
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
3/4 c. shredded pineapple, well drained
6 maraschino cherries, cut fine
1 1/2 c. sliced bananas, mixed with 1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
2/3 c. vanilla wafers, crushed

Melt marshmallows in pineapple juice over low heat, folding until mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. When cool, beat gradually into beaten egg whites. when well blended, fold in nuts and fruit. Line bottom of 2" deep, 9" round pan with half of vanilla wafer crumbs. Pile mixture in lightly. Top with remaining crumbs. Chill until firm. Garnish with whipped cream and additional cherries.
