COCONUT LAYER CAKE 
6 eggs
3/4 c. Crisco
1 c. sweet milk
2 c. sugar
2 c. self-rising flour (White Lily)
1 tsp. vanilla

(Save out for icing the white of 2 of the 6 eggs).

ICING:

2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar

Cook until syrup will spin a thread. Beat 2 egg whites, then add the syrup. Add 3/4 cup of powdered sugar and vanilla; beat well. Use as much coconut as you like.
