DEWBERRY COBBLER | |
1 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/3 c. solid white vegetable shortening (Crisco is recommended) 2 tbsp. cold water Combine flour and salt, cut in shortening until well combined. Mix in 2 tablespoons water. Mix well with fork. Roll out on floured board. Line pan bottom and sides with pastry, pour in prepared filling and top with a solid or lattice work pastry top. BERRY FILLING: 1 tbsp. flour 1 1/2 c. water 2 c. berries 1 c. sugar 1 tbsp. butter Stir 1 tablespoon flour into water, add berries, sugar and melted butter. Mix and pour into crust and bake 40 minutes at 375 degrees. |
