FLAKY PIE CRUST | |
4 c. all-purpose flour 1 3/4 c. vegetable shortening (not oil) 1 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. vinegar 1 egg With fork, mix first 4 ingredients. In small bowl beat 1/2 cup water and remaining ingredients together. Add to first mixture and blend with fork, until dry ingredients are moistened. With hands mold dough into 4 balls and chill at least 15 minutes. Dough can be frozen at this point, or refrigerated for 3 days. Makes 4 to 5 crusts. |
