BRER RABBIT MOLASSES COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening, melt & cool
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix well and chill. Form into balls and dip in sugar. Press with bottom of glass. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

Along the lines of gingersnaps, but soft and wonderful to eat warm with milk.
