BAVARIAN APPLE TART 
CRUST:

1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour

Press into 9-inch spring form pan.

FILLING:

1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Beat until smooth and pour on top of crust.

TOPPING:

1/3 c. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. peeled and sliced apples
1/4 c. sliced almonds

Arrange apples on top of filling and sprinkle the almonds. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, then turn down to 400 degrees for 25 minutes.

If desired, garnish with whipped cream or Dream Whip when serving.

This is a great dessert for casual dinning and always gets rave reviews! I have substituted sliced pears when in season and a sprinkling of fresh rasberries - is just as delicious.
