CHOCOLATE - DIPPED STRAWBERRIES 
2 pt. strawberries, rinsed
1 pkg. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces (1 c.)
2 tbsp. shortening

Drain strawberries on paper towels until dry. Over hot, not boiling water, stir chocolate and shortening until melted and smooth; keep warm. Insert pick in stem end of berry. Dip tapered end of berry into chocolate; lift out quickly. Twirl slightly to allow excess to run off. Place dipped berries on wax paper; remove pick. Repeat with remaining berries. Let stand at room temperature about 15 minutes or until firm. Can be refrigerated several hours.
