CORNBREAD PIE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 can tomato soup (2 cups tomatoes)
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. whole grain corn
1 lg. onion, chopped
2 c. water
1 tbsp. chili powder
1/2 c. chopped pepper

Brown beef and onions in skillet. Add other ingredients. Simmer 15 minutes. Put in greased casserole

TOPPING:

Sift together 3/4 cup corn meal, 1 tablespoon flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder. Add 1 beaten egg and 1/3 cup milk. Stir lightly and fold in 1 tablespoon melted fat. Cover the meat mixture with topping. Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) for 20 to 25 minutes.
