GARLIC DILLS 
3 pts. vinegar
4 1/2 qts. hot water
1 1/2 c. salt
Cucumbers

Bring vinegar, water, and salt to a boil. Pack cucumbers in jars. To each 1/2 gallon, add 2 cloves garlic, a bunch of dill, and 1/2 teaspoon alum. Place jars in a kettle of hot water, then add vinegar mixture. Seal and leave jars in kettle until water cools.
