SWEET GARLIC DILLS 
Cut off ends of cucumbers. Cut into wedges (may quarter or 1/2 bigger cucumbers). Let stand in ice water 2 hours.

Put a head of dill and garlic on bottom then pack cucumbers in jars.

Put one head of dill and garlic on top (the big garlic cut into quarters) and 1/8 teaspoon of alum in each jar.

BRINE:

4 c. of white vinegar
4 c. water
5 c. sugar
1/4 c. canning salt

Pour over cucumbers, seal jars. Put in water bath for 5 minutes after it comes to a boil. Well water works best for making pickles.
