JELLY NUT LAYER CAKE 
4 egg yolks
3/4 c. sugar
Rind from 1 lemon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. butter
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder

Sift flour and baking powder. Add rest of ingredients and mix well. Spread on bottom of 9x13 inch greased pan.

Stir jelly in a bowl to make it more spreadable. Spread jelly on top of batter in pan. 2 c. ground nuts 1 c. sugar 6 egg whites 2 tbsp. sugar

Beat yolks, add ground nuts and 4 tablespoons sugar and beat. Set aside.

Beat egg whites until frothy. Add 2 tablespoons sugar and whip until stiff peaks appear. Fold in yolks, nuts and sugar. Spread this mixture over the jelly. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 50 minutes.
