SPAGHETTI & MEATBALLS 
1/2 lb. ground meat
1 lg. onion, chopped
2 sm. cans tomato sauce (or 1 lg.)
2 sm. cans tomato paste (or 1 lg.)
3 cans water
1 tsp. dried basil leaves
1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
1/2 tsp. garlic powder or fresh garlic, crushed
1/4 tsp. ground red pepper
1/2 tsp. anise seed
Salt & pepper to taste
1 tbsp. dried parsley flakes

In large saucepan brown 1/2 pound ground meat with onions. Add 2 small cans tomato sauce plus 2 cans water, 2 small cans tomato paste plus 3 cans water. Add spices, stir well and let come to simmer. Meanwhile make meatballs.

MEATBALLS:

1 lb. ground meat
1 tbsp. dried minced onion
1 tbsp. dried parsley flakes
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
Salt & pepper to taste
1/3-1/2 c. Progresso Italian bread crumbs
1 egg

Mix all ingredients very well. Shape into 1 1/2 tablespoons size balls (for spaghetti and 1 tablespoon size for cocktail meatballs) and drop into simmering sauce. Turn heat low and simmer slowly for several hours until thickness desired.

Variations: Add pepperoni slices, chuck beef cubes are delicious cooked in sauce and oh! So Tender.
