DROP DANISH 
1/4 c. butter
3 tbsp. sugar
2 c. Bisquick
2/3 c. milk
Glaze (below)
Preserves or canned fruit

Mix butter, sugar and Bisquick until crumbly. Stir in milk until dough forms. Beat 15 strokes. Drop by rounded spoonfuls 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Make a shallow well in center of each. Fill with preserves or canned pie filling (cherry, strawberry, apple, lemon, etc.). Bake in 400 degree oven until golden brown, 10-12 minutes. While still warm, drizzle with glaze. Makes 12-24 Danish, according to size.

GLAZE:

Beat 2/3 cup powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon warm water and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla until smooth.

When my children were growing up we always had something special for breakfast on Saturday mornings. This recipe was a favorite. Over the years I used many different fillings but one of the best was orange marmalade. I also added orange juice in the glaze instead of water. Fast & yummy!
