GRAN'S BANANA PUDDING 
3/4 c. sugar, divided
1/3 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. scalded milk
2 eggs, separated
1 tsp. vanilla extract
25 vanilla wafers
4 bananas, sliced

Blend 1/2 cup sugar, flour and salt in top of double boiler. Add milk and cook until thick, stirring constantly. Cover and cook for 15 minutes. Beat egg yolks; combine with custard and cook 2 minutes longer. Add vanilla.

Line flat baking dish with vanilla wafers. Add sliced bananas. Top with custard. Repeat layers if necessary. Beat egg whites until stiff; add remaining 1/4 cup sugar and spread over custard. Bake at 350 degrees for about 12-15 minutes.
